Q3 has focused on moving Eggcellent Farms from construction towards operational readiness.
Our attention is now on completing poultry housing, water, electricity, storage, feeding equipment and the systems required to introduce our first commercial flock safely.
The first phase will consist of 2,000 layers and 1,000 broilers, giving us an initial total of 3,000 birds.
Alongside construction, we are preparing the operating team, equipment and biosecurity procedures required to manage the farm.
The next major milestone is completing final preparations and moving from building the farm to operating it.
During Q2, the focus shifted from planning towards the physical infrastructure needed for poultry production.
Priority areas included poultry housing, water supply, electricity, storage and operational areas.
Rather than developing the entire 10-acre site at once, we chose to build in phases and concentrate first on what is required to get the farm operational.
We also continued developing our longer-term feed strategy, including locally sourced maize and future systems such as duckweed, Black Soldier Fly and fodder production.
The objective was to create a strong operational foundation before moving into the launch phase
With the new site secured, Q1 focused on designing how the wider farm would operate.
Rather than building wherever space was available, we developed a masterplan covering poultry housing, feed and mill storage, water, electricity, internal access, staff facilities and future agricultural systems.
The aim was to make sure the first phase could operate efficiently while leaving enough room for expansion later.
This planning stage also helped us avoid repeating the limitations of our original site and provided a clear framework for the infrastructure and construction work that would follow.
Q4 2025 marked a major turning point for Eggcellent Farms with the acquisition of a new approximately 10-acre site in Matse, Ho.
Our original one-acre location had become too restrictive for the scale of business we wanted to build. Limited space, higher development costs and poor logistics access meant continuing there would have restricted future growth.
The new Matse site gives us room for poultry housing, feed and storage facilities, water infrastructure, staff areas and future agricultural systems.
This acquisition gave Eggcellent Farms the space to plan beyond the first flock and begin building a farm designed for long-term expansion.
We are on track to welcome our first flock in Q4 2026. This will mark the beginning of commercial operations and a new chapter for Eggcellent Farms.
